Infertility

Infertility in men and women treatment in homeopathy navi mumbai
Infertility refers to the inability of a person to reproduce in spite of regular, unprotected sex for one year (or six months in special circumstances) Infertility can be either due to male conditions or due to female conditions or the cause can be unknown. According to studies, 20-30% of infertility cases are due to male infertility, 20-35% are due to female infertility, and 25-40% are due to combined problems in both.
In cases, where the couple is not able to have even their first child, it is referred as primary infertility. If there are problem is in having second child, after first successful childbirth, it is referred as secondary infertility.

Male infertility

Male infertility means complaints of the male partner due to which the couple is not able to have child. Other problems are discussed below-

1) SEMEN

Semen is the fluid secreted from the penis, this fluid contains the male reproductive cell called sperm.
Anomaly in the semen is responsible for more than 75% of cases of infertility in males.
• No Sperm- Absence of sperm in semen is a major cause of infertility.
• Low sperm count-
• Decreased motility of sperm
• Immotile sperms
• Abnormal Sperm

2) Malformation in Male Reproductive Organ

• Undescended Testis
• Structural Abnormality of Male Reproductive organ- like Small penis
• Blockage of the ductal system of male reproductive organs

  • Prostatitis- Inflammation of prostate
  • Orchitis -Inflammation of testis
  • Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs)- Infections including Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea.

5) Medications

Certain medicines like anabolic steroids(Usually consumed by body builders and athletes), sulphasalazine, chemotherapy can reduce the sperm count. 

6) Drug Abuse

Use of  banned drugs marijuana and hashish lower the sperm count.

7) Diseases

Anemia, Cushing's syndrome, Diabetes, Thyroid disease can lower the fertility of males in some cases.

8) Hormonal imbalance

Any abnormality associated with the hormones can decrease the fertility in males. Testosterone deficiency is a common hormone related problem in males

Female Infertility

Female infertility is the inability of a female to get pregnant inspite of regular unprotected sex for one year. 

Causes of Female Infertility

1. Malformation of female reproductive organ- Narrow cervical canal
2. Damaged reproductive organ-
Damage to Fallopian Tube- Fallopian tubes are the tubes which connect uterus to the ovaries. The sperm of male has to pass through this tube to fertilize the female egg. Any damage to these tubes because of infections like tuberculosis, Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), endometriosis, scar of past surgery can cause blockage or damage of the tubes and prevent fertility.
3. Hormonal problems- Hormonal imbalance in females can cause ovulation disorders like infrequent or absent ovulation and ovarian cysts, these account for 25 percent cases of female infertility. Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), Prolactin are some of the major female hormones that have to be balanced for bearing pregnancy.
4. Uterine Causes- Outgrowths like polyp or fibroids can prevent fertility.
5. Unexplained Infertility- In around 20 percent cases of infertility, the cause remains unknown and may resolve with time.

Homeopathy in Infertility

Except for the anamolies where an organ of the reproductive system is absent, Homeopathic medicine are helpful in most of the problems discussed above.
Homeopathy has a wide range of medicines which can be helpful in treating infertility.In some cases the treatment may be therapeutic only, depending upon the disease. Other patients may require constitutional treatment. Homeopathy also gives a ray of hope to couples with infertility of unknown cause.

Homeopathy treatment of male infertility

Damiana- It is frequently indicated in impotency. There is sexual debility because of nervous prostration.
Lycopodium Clavatum- Impotence due to low erectile power. Premature emissions.
Nuphar Luteum- This medicine is indicated when the patient has retracted penis, relaxed parts with absence of sexual desire.
Selenium Metallicum- Selenium is an important medicine for male infertility due to erectile dysfunction. The patient is physically weak with increased desire.
Sabal Serrulata- Sabal Serrulata is a top grade Homeopathic medicine for infertility due to atrophy of testis and loss of sexual power along with prostatic enlargement.

Homeopathy treatment of female infertility

Thiosinaminum-This medicine may be used to treat infertility due to tubal blockage. Adhesions following tuberculosis of fallopian tube is a common cause of tubal blockage.
Secale cornutum- Secale cornutum is useful in females who have habitual abortion at around third month specially in anaemic women. Brownish, offensive leucorrhoea may be present. 
Sepia- It is indicated in cases of both primary and secondary infertility where females have aversion to coition. They may present with irregular or absent ovulation and scanty periods.
Agnus Castus- This remedy helps females who suffer from aversion to sex with history of masturbation. Relaxed genitals with leucorrhoea.
Apis Mellifica- Often indicated in case of polycystic ovary. It has tendency to abortion at third month.
